In 1988, Sacred Machines was known as “Borderline,” a double-entendre referring to both the illusory social construct of political boundaries, and to borderline personality disorder. The duo known as Borderline recorded nine songs on the original eponymous recording that was later known as “Hide n’ Seek,” named after one of the album’s up-tempo songs.

In 2018, Dave and Mac met once again, and decided that the audio of the original album was insufficient for a postmodern, high-resolution era. The duo decided to re-record the nine songs, and are pleased to announce that this revised album is now completed (2020), under the title, “Hide n’ Seek.” The two musicians decided that the name “Borderline” was no longer suitable, and Dave proposed the Kurt Vonnegut reference, “Sacred Machines” as the duo’s new name.

In addition, Sacred Machines are pleased to announce nine new songs, released under the title “Zero Footprint” (2020), a reference to the late Green CEO Ray Anderson‘s usage of the term in Joel Bakan’s The Corporation (2003). A sample of Mr. Anderson uttering this phrase is used in Sacred Machines’ new song, “Bad Tenants.”
