Music has changed the world before. It will do so again. All of us, whoever we are, must work in our own disciplines, in our own ways, to save a dying species, a declining planet. Many might believe that musicians, entertainers, and artists cannot make an impact. We can. Many might believe that ordinary people cannot make a dent in all that is wrong with humanity. We can.
Tell Beethoven, Woody Guthrie, Lena Horne, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Nina Simone, Bob Marley, John Lennon, Rage Against the Machine, Tracy Chapman, KRS-One, Lauryn Hill, The Chicks, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, or Chance the Rapper that they did not make a difference. This will only make them stronger.
The mission of Sacred Machines is to reveal the hypocrisy, the corruption, and even the lost wisdom traditions of the Earth’s most dangerous creature: the human.
We sing and play loud music to lend our white male privilege to any movements that support equality and liberation for women, LGBTQ people, people of colour, people with disabilities, and underprivileged or poor people.
We deplore violence of any kind.
We rail against autocracy, authoritarianism, fascism, and fundamentalism.
We denounce politicians who promise change, yet maintain the status quo.
We support all humans’ rights to determine their own spiritual paths, and their own ideologies, provided these are peaceful ways which harm neither humans nor animals, neither trees nor plants. We defend Mother Earth.
Sacred Machines is a loud voice. Sacred Machines is the voice of the people. The voice of Sacred Machines… is your voice.
